Orcas

We learned that there are two types of Orcas that frequent this area.

The Orcas that are seen in pods and travel in family groups eat only salmon. They work together to gather the fish and then feast of them

Another type of Ocra, called a transient whale, travels alone. It makes no sounds to communicate to other whales. It hunts mammals such as seals and otters. These are the whales that gave the Orcas its other common name, the "Killer Whale".
