Red-Whiskered Bulbul
(Pycnonotus jocosus)

This is a very beautiful bird that is fairly rare outside of the Honolulu area. It was an unauthorized cage release in 1965 and is slowly spreading.

It nests in cup shaped structures in trees or sometimes flower baskets.

Look for the red eyespot and crown of this species.
