Longley and Hildebrand (1941) : First association of shrimp-goby described in Southern Florida.

Luther (1958): Red sea studies where the first behavoiral observations made.

Magnus (1967): Studied in the Red sea.

Harada (1969): Laboratory studies conducted in Japan on goby and shrimp selection.

Polunin and Lubbock (1977): Studied partner specificity and distribution of several shrimp goby relationships in the Seychelles.
