Creating a resource like this is never free, even though we plan to give everything away without any cost to our users. Financial support allows us to eat so that each day we can film and document biology shows for you.

There are also indirect costs to producing this site. Even if everyone at Explore Biodiversity worked as volunteers their would still be large bandwidth costs and costs to maintain the equipment.
