Medicinal Use: A type of bistort, the most common usage
of this plant is as a use for blood clotting medicine for internal and
external bleeding. One can apply it externally for cuts and internally
for ulcers.
Food Use: The rhizomes of this plant are edible and
can be cooked like you would a potato. However, they are often not very

The seeds can be used as a substitute for poppy seeds. The leaves can
be added to salads.
