Crassulaceae

This family contains 900 species in 25 genera. They are mostly succulent species. One of the more famous of these plants are the Kalanchoe sp. These plants have the ability to but offspring from the tips of their leaves. These plants are specially adapted for dry conditions. Their succulent leaves help them store and conserve water throughout the year.

Systematics: The plants are usually very succulent, have scale-llike glands at the base of each pistil and there are usually twice the number of stamen as petals. Also of note is the gynecium which is almost always apocarpus.
